| Becta has sought advice from ACPO (The Association of Chief Police Officers) regarding Asset tagging. They have provided the following recommendation: |

"Schools should mark or tag their property. It should ideally be carried out using systems approved to LPS1225 (overt marking devices) and registered on databases approved to LPS1224.
The educational institution should conduct a regular audit of their ICT and produce a complete asset register. This way all schools can quickly identify which items of ICT may have been affected by criminal activity and the police will have a clear idea of what they are looking for." |
